MEASUREMENT GUIDE

Measuring Width

The term "width" refers to the width of the fabric, which is usually 54" for drapery fabric.  Widths can  be sewn together to create wider panels.  Drapery panels can be from 1 width to 3 widths wide depending on the coverage desired.  The chart below provides a guideline for estimating the number of widths you will need to achieve your desired coverage.  The widths are per panel.

 Length Guide

When using a rod pocket panel, measure from the top of the pole to the floor.  Add one inch for smaller poles, and two inches for larger poles.  Additional inches may be added for the puddled effect.  Our standard rod pocket panel has a 3” allowance which accommodates up to a 2” pole.  If you need a wider allowance please let us know when ordering drapes

When using a pleated panel, measure from the bottom of the rings to the floor.  Additional inches may be added for the puddle effect.

For the puddle effect, add 1-3 inches for the drapes to just break the floor.  Add 4-6” for a more dramatic look.  Add 6-8 inches for an ultimate puddled effect (not recommended for drapes that will be on doors that open and close frequently).
